We recently carried out service work on an OM-Power 1500 linear amplifier. This is a hunky beast. It is capable of 2kW output on all HF bands and 1.5kW on 6m. In order to check it after we had finished the work, we decided to try plugging in an Elecraft KX3 transceiver. With 10W output from the amplifier, we were getting 400W output. Quite a useful power gain to say the least!

It may be an unlikely combination, but on the other hand, if you have a linear amplifier tike this, then your little KX3 could easily double up as a main station transceiver. Yet another example of how versatile the KX3 really is. Peter G3OJV
