We managed to ship all the fully paid back orders for the IC-7300, yesterday (Thursday). These were all designated “Saturday Delivery.” Because some areas do not have a guaranteed Saturday delivery, we cannot be sure that every radio will be delivered tomorrow. However, we have done our very best and hope that the majority of customers will receive their IC-7300 tomorrow.

IC-7300+Amp - 1

The new IC-7300 has now arrived and is already selling better than any other HF transceiver at its UK launch. A true SDR transceiver with an amazing amount of features. It includes an Auto ATU that even covers 4m. If you are looking for a Heil microphone or headset, we have checked these out and providing that you select a Heil model designated for use with ICOM, then you will have mo problem.

The IC-7300 represents quite outstanding value with a selection of included features that a year or so ago, would have thought to be impossible at this price level. And because of this great performance at such a very reasonable price, we have selected the Elecraft KPA500 as the perfect match for the IC-7300. The KPA500 is a  solid state design, and operates on all bands from 160m – 6m. Typically you will get around 600W out fro 30W drive. The KPA500 has no warm up time so can be switched on from cold and operated. No more DX being missed! It also has automatic band-switching, so no need to worry about any extra data leads. And there is no need for an ALC connection either. All you need is an RF connection from the IC-7300 and a PTT connection. The PTT cable included with the KPA500 is correctly terminated for the IC-7300 .And if your are a CW operator, there is full QSK. Perhaps just as importantly, the KPA500 is completely self contained, yet very compact. As the photo shows, the IC-73o and the IC-7300 make a great pair. A full legal limit station at a great price! Call us for further information.

Yes that is right! We now have a huge stock of IC-7300s. BUT – we also have a huge number of orders. As Europe’s Ham Radio Store, we got the very first shipment and with our huge customer base, it is not surprising that the order backlog has been so high. If you want one and have not  got one on order, please phone us immediately. We have just a few left!

All are activated for 4m and 60m.

CDXC Annual Dinner 2016   March 20th, 2016

CDXC-2016 - 1

Myself and my wife, Sue, were invited to attend the CDXC Annual dinner held yesterday. Justin, G0KSC and his wide Coley, also attended. Justin was giving a talk on antennas in the afternoon. Ir proved a very enjoyable day and we were able to display and demonstrate the new ICOM IC-7300 transceiver. From my point of view it was also enjoyable to meet up with some hams who over the years I had worked, particularly those who were once locals to me. The evening dinner was well attended and about sixty members and gusts were present at the meal.

By no stretch of the imagination am I a DXer, using a modest 100W to a dipole at around 25ft. But it was quite clear that joining CDXC does not require you to be an avid DXER. With the membership approaching 1,000, it does have a lot to offer. Not the least of which is their regular magazine. This is very much aimed at the operational side of ham radio, an area not always given as much space as many would like, in the mainstream magazines. Many thanks guys and I really will try and make the July summer event.
